Apple held a Town Hall meeting yesterday to announce upcoming changes to their AppleCare and AppleCare+ warranty programs. If all goes according to plan, the changes will take affect by this Fall. Here are some of the highlights:
- Rather than just replacing defective iOS devices, Apple will begin making in-store repairs (screen, glass, camera, etc).
- AppleCare will be converted to a subscription model or introduce a new tier, which will be attached to a customer rather than a specific product.
- Apple will introduce support via iMessage.
