Moving a Print Job from One Print Queue to Another

Having multiple printers installed on your Mac is not that uncommon. You have printers at work, printers at home and for students, printers at school. With so many printers installed and available, it can be easy to accidentally send a print job to the wrong printer (home vs. work).

Ordinarily, resolving this can be somewhat of a pain. First, you would need to cancel the erroneous print job then recreate the same job for the correct printer. Ok, this isn't too much of a hassle, unless you spent time to configure your print job a certain way. Well, here's a tip that can save you valuable time (and frustration) when you find yourself in this predicament.

To correct this, all we need to do is drag the print job from the wrong printer and drop it into the queue for the correct printer. Here's how it works...

In order to do this, we need to open both printers' print queue. To do this, go to System Preferences | Printers & Scanners. From here, you will select the first printer on the left then click the "Open Print Queue..." button.

You will want to do this for both printers. Once both print queues are open, simply drag the print job from one queue to the other. Once it's been moved, the new job will be processed. It's that simple!
