Broadcast Your World... Live!

Great things happen to us all the time (even if we don't always recognize them when they happen). Birthday parties, kids' orchestra concerts, work promotion parties and other big announcements are a few examples. Wouldn't it be great if we could broadcast those events live, so that our family, friends and colleagues can take part in the celebration, whether they are down the hall or around the world? Fortunately, you can. And the best part... it's easy and free! All you need is an iPhone, iPad, Android device or laptop and a free Ustream account.

If you don't already have a Ustream account, you can sign up for a new account either at ustream.tv or on one of the supported devices (using their free app). Once you have created your new account, it's time to start broadcasting!

To begin broadcasting, all you need to do is press the red record button within the Ustream app. Within a few seconds, your participants are able to watch your live stream (there is typically a 20-30 seconds delay, which is normal for broadcasting systems). To invite others to join your video stream, simply press the share button on your screen to get the direct URL to your stream.

When you are done broadcasting your stream (by pressing the "stop" button), you will be presented with an option to save your video as a recording for later playback. This is optional.

Is this something you will use on a daily basis? Probably not. Is it something that would be beneficial to have on your device ready to go when you want to use it? Absolutely! You never know when you will find yourself in a situation where you would like to share a special occasion with others on a whim.

Want to get more professional with Ustream streaming? They have professional-grade streaming packages to choose from as well as personal. Check them out.
