Tech 204: Data Protection & Security

If I asked you what was more valuable, your computer or your data, what would you say? If you said โ€œdataโ€, then youโ€™re absolutely right! Generally speaking, computers are a commodity. There are clearly technical advantages of using one over another, but theyโ€™re readily available when you need one. Data, on the other hand, is not. In some cases, youโ€™ve spent years generating your datasets, and I would bet that nearly of it is irreplaceable. Thatโ€™s why backing up your data is so critical. My rule of thumb is that if your data doesnโ€™t exist in at least 3 different places on 2 different types of media, it doesnโ€™t exist at all. This course will show you ways to protect yourself from data loss.
